The Things Network - Overview
Connect The Things Network (TTN) to Neowit so you can manage LoRaWAN devices — onboarding, monitoring, and decommissioning — alongside the rest of your fleet. For admins setting up TTN and managing the Kuando Busylight Omega family.
What this integration does
The TTN integration bridges Neowit and a TheThingsStack application. Once connected, Neowit:
- Lists every device registered in your TTN application and lets you choose which ones to bring under Neowit.
- Provisions new devices on TTN's behalf — either by typing the device's credentials manually (Register) or by scanning the manufacturer's TR005 QR sticker (Claim).
- Receives uplinks through a webhook Neowit auto-registers on the TTN side. No manual webhook setup.
- Sends downlinks (e.g. colour changes for a Busylight) through the same connection.
- Tracks device health with a lifecycle state on every row: Active, Inactive, or Not yet activated.
Supported backends
- The Things Network (TheThingsStack, all clusters: EU, US, AU, AS) — fully supported today.
Supported devices
- Kuando Busylight Omega (Plenom A/S) — the only LoRaWAN device family currently shipped.
- Elsys EMS family of sensors.
- Elsys ERS family of sensors.
- Future devices follow the same onboarding paths described in these articles.
Where to start
- Set up the integration — get TTN credentials ready and connect them to Neowit.
- Onboard a Kuando Busylight — adopt, register, or claim a device.
- Offboard a Busylight — remove a device or stop tracking it.
- Device states — what Active / Inactive / Not yet activated mean and how to react.
