Workflows - Glamox Connect

Switch, dim and retune Glamox lights from a workflow, one light at a time or a whole Glamox group at once. For workflow builders. Setting the integration up is covered in Glamox Connect setup.

What you get

One action, Set Light, in the Lighting category. It works like the Set Light actions of the Philips Hue and Fagerhult integrations, so the same device list can go to all three.

Choosing the lights

The Target field has two modes:

  • Devices — a list of lights, picked with the device picker or templated from the Find Devices node. Anything in the list that belongs to another integration is skipped, not failed, so one list can fan out to several Set Light actions at once.
  • Glamox group — a group set up in Glamox Connect, by its name or its ID. Every light in the group changes with one command, so a whole zone switches together instead of one light after another.

The group is looked up when the workflow runs. A group created in Glamox Connect can be used straight away; one that is renamed or deleted makes the action fail with a message naming the groups it knows. Two groups with the same name are refused — use the group's ID instead. Only groups Glamox Connect shares over the API can be used; if it shares none, the action fails saying no groups have been received.

Set Light

Field What it does
Target The lights or the Glamox group — see above.
On Turn the lights on or off. Off wins over every other field.
Brightness 0–100 %. 0 turns the lights off; anything above turns them on.
Color Temperature In mirek, 153–500. Only lights that support it take it.

Give at least one of On, Brightness or Color Temperature.

Glamox Connect takes one change per command, so a combined request is sent as a short sequence: colour temperature first, so the light comes up at the new tone, then brightness, or on. A light that can't dim is switched on when given a brightness. A colour temperature outside a light's own range is set to the nearest end of it.

Reading the result

Output Meaning
Updated devices Lights the command was sent to.
Skipped devices Devices from another integration, left alone.
Failed devices Glamox devices that couldn't be commanded — see below.
Group ID, Group name The group the command went to, in group mode.

Updated means the command reached Neowit's broker for Glamox Connect to pick up. Glamox Connect does not confirm commands, so the light's new state appears in its readings only once Glamox reports it.

A Glamox device lands in Failed devices when:

  • it is a sensor, not a light;
  • Neowit hasn't received the light's description from Glamox Connect since it last restarted — usually a minute or two;
  • only a colour temperature was asked for, and the light has none;
  • Neowit's connection to the broker was down, or the broker refused the command.
